Its November 24th and we finally made it out onto the road, John had a few doctors appts he had to keep before we left the country, but rather than extend our visit at Brae Island in Fort Langley we moved to Birch Bay on November 19 where we can stay for free, and hot tub every night.  John then went into Langley for his appts then on the Nov 23rd we left for Oregon, arriving late Saturday afternoon in Neskewin where we have stayed before.  A nice park, just a few minutes from Pacific City Oregon and about 16 miles from Lincoln City.

Took a drive into Lincoln City Saturday night and snooped around picked up a few groceries and headed back to our camp site.

Sunday was a gorgous day so drove up to Tillamook for an Ice Cream cone and headed over to the coast via Netarts Bay and then along the coast to Pacific City where we stopped for a coffee and a walk on the beach...it was awesome, the sun was out and the temperature was about 61 F. couldn't ask for a nicer day.

Have a few chores relating to the RV tomorrow in Lincoln City, John's looking to get our new tires... then off to California!!  Have not figured out how to add pictures to this journal yet, otherwise you would be looking at an awesome Cape Kiwanda sunset (north of Pacific City), but you'll have to wait till I learn that to see the pic's.  Love to you all!

WELCOME FAMILY AND FRIENDS as John and I begin our retirement & RV Adventure

We are two sleeps away from John's last day at work.  Looking forward to hitting the road.

We have sold the house and have been living in our 5th Wheel at Brae Island Regional Park in Fort Langley since the third week in October.  Everything happened so fast....house sold 4 days after listing it and the new owners wanted possession within the month, so we both moved through the process of packing our life into a steel storage container like a pair of "whirling dervishes" afraid to stop for fear we wouldn't be able to start again...til the job was done.  Sold or gave away most of what we owned, stored the important few pieces of furniture and family treasures in the 20 ft container and are trying not to look back at the lovely home we made for ourselves in Langley along with all the great friends we will leave behind after our 6 years we have been here.  We can look forward to thinking about where we will roost when we tire of the gypsy life we are about to undertake, John thinks we can do this "gypsy thing" for 10 years but we will be having a family meeting over that idea!!!!

Not sure how often and how creative this Blog will be so be patient with us.  My initial purpose in doing this is to let family and friends know that were alive and doing well, and where we are from week to week, but especially for our granddaughter Lexus who we will miss dearly and hope to stay connected with through this journal.   The parents and kids probably won't miss us a bit???

Hope after were on the road for a few weeks, we will formulate a plan for how often, and whether I can get John's help in telling our story as we go about our travels.    Add your email address to the "Follow by Email" and I think you will be notified when we create each new posting.

Wish us luck!!!
